About a hundred years later the "free arm" or "sleeve arm" sewing machine started to become popular as sleeves, cuffs and other tubular items were so much easier to sew with the new designs.
Horn of course kept pace with developments and anticipated the the need for an effortless way to use the sewing machine in flatbed or freearm mode.
The result was the airlift mechanism which at the single touch of a foot pedal raises the machine to the level required without lifting or "swinging" the machine into position.

Horn has swiftly responded to the latest generation of bigger, heavier long arm machines by offering 5 models which have been fitted with a new longer Horn "soft touch" air lifter cabinet. This suits these newer sewing machines and all existing standard sized sewing machines. It is fitted to models 1031 Versatile, 1041 Quilters Delight, 1051 Outback, 1061 Sewmate 2 and the 1071 Craftmaster.
